serves as a Custodian and Manager for
many public records such as the
following: deeds, deeds of trust, powers
of attorney, assumed names, plats, maps
and military records. We also maintain
notary public records, grave removals,
as well as issue marriage, death and
birth certificates.
Our facility is located in the
courthouse that is situated on the
corner of King and Dundee streets. We
maintain our office on the first floor.
We encourage you to call us with any
questions regarding any matters that
pertain to the records in our office.

Bertie County Register of Deeds now offers a service For Statewide Births. This service is for individuals who were born in any county in North Carolina from 1971 forward. They are not available online, must be purchased in the office only. The cost for this service is $24.00. (This fee is set by the State) CASH ONLY.
