Resolution Regarding Recordation
of Instruments Affecting Real Property |

Witnesseth that whereas:
A. The Register of Deeds of Bertie
County has informed the County
Commissioners of Bertie County that the
performance of the duties of her office
would be greatly facilitated
if the name and address of the person to
whom a map or instrument is to be
returned
and the Grantee's permanent mailing
address were affixed on the face of each
map or instrument recorded in the Office
of the Register of Deeds of Bertie
County;
B. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. Section 161-30,
the County Commissioners of Bertie
County may require the information
requested by the Register of Deeds to be
affixed on the face

of each map or instrument affecting real
property to be recorded in the County;
and
C. The best interest of Bertie County
would be served by the adoption of such
requiremnts.
NOW, therefore it is hereby resolved
that:
The Register of Deeds of Bertie County
shall not accept for registration any
map or instrument affecting real
property in Bertie County unless the
following requirements are satisfied:
1. The name and address of the person to
whom the map or instrument is to be
returned are affixed on the face
thereof.
2. The Grantee's permanent mailing
address is affixed on the face thereof.
3. These requirements shall become
effective on June 1, 1991, and the
Office of the Register of Deeds of
Bertie County is to notify all
registered surveyors and licensed
attorneys in Bertie County of the
enactment of this Resolution and of the
requirements hereof by mailing a copy of
this Resolution to said surveyors and
attorneys.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced
by Commissioner Joseph W. Spruill;
seconded by Commissioner T.E. Brown and
unanimously adopted by affirmative vote
of all five (5) Commissioners.
