'Bertie Strong' Showcases Student Achievements

February 9th--Bertie County schools showcased student achievement from across the school district with each campus displaying learning centers, student success with robotics and many demonstrations of exciting educational experiences under the mantra "Bertie Strong" a theme introduced by Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill at the high school gymnasium.  In attendance were parents, students and family members who were able to meet with teachers and administrators in a festive setting of music, refreshments and presentations of school achievement.  Commissioner Tammy Lee commented "the students are doing wonderful things in our school system and we are very proud of our teachers," as she pointed to the display from Windsor Elementary School.  Commissioner Stewart White noted that "the improved school results are very exciting and something we should celebrate on a regular basis."  "These photos really show what learning is all about for our students" commented Vice Chairman Ernestine Bazemore who noted that several of the Commissioners had out of town meetings, and other commitments on Thursday representing the Board, and were unable to attend.
